The importance of music in films

Posted by exotworking - February 1st, 2011

I just finished my latest opus, a film of 7 minutes length entitled "Hyperborea".
I build it around my interpretation of a song by Sol Invictus called "Tooth and Claw".
Watch it here:

Hyperborea

Without the song, I wouldn´t have made the film.

Everytime I watch the film again I wish it would end as friendly as it started out. Ha. That's the great thing about it though, I guess.

That´s the loss of innocence

Not only music, but all audio is pretty damn important. I feel like 51% (i'm just making up statistics but I feel like its more than half) of the effort has to be sounds. Without sound, nothing is fun to watch.

I spend only circa 5 days on sound and 4 months on drawing/animating :)

I think this description might be incomplete.

yahhh, I was trying to give a constructive review, but where you're at, so nevermind

Don´t get me wrong, I was just cryptically referring to symbolism
